This place is organic restaurant for a not too elaborate food. This place has a nice atmosphere where you can seat in big table sharing with people that you don’t know reading a newspaper or watching the news on TV.

The food is very fresh and healthy is not a vegetarian restaurant but you can find many vegetarian options more than the usual, as well as nice prepare Irish stew in a bready plate.

stewnude

I’ve been in this place many times, is a fast food for fresh and healthy food, sound difficult to manage but it is possible, they have a big range of  sandwiches and salads, soups with meat and pasta. The lunch for one person could be around 10 Euros, but remember is a healthy place where you are not going to find fizzy drinks or creamy deserts but you can always find fruit salads, smoothie or just milk.

Last night I had pasta carbonara, I have to say that if you are expecting the Italian recipe then don’t try this option, they are serving Italian food but Anglo style, with chicken, cream, bacon, cheese but really creamy, the taste is delicious but is not carbonara really.

If you are alone and you want to have a nice quite lunch visit this place and go to the back of the place, is more relax and you can read a book in peace.

This place is not good to go with kids or boogies because you are sharing the tables most of the time and the space between the tables behind and in front is not too big.

You can have a coffee as well, but is American coffee or tea, they have more options for tea, if you are shopping in this area may be you can have a muffing and a tea looking at the Art that is post it on the walls, I hope you enjoy this place as i do everytime i go.

This Pub, Restaurant is just as soon as you get of the Dart station. It is a really spacious place to have a drink out side if the day is nice, or have a hot whiskey next to the fire place but what I most recommend this place for the fresh fish and seafood. It is just delicious.

They normally server the Catch of the day this is a very fresh and succulent dish garnished with salad and served with one choice of side dish. Last time I was here we order a few things to share.

Calamari with mixed leaves

Bowl of West Coast Mussels (Traditional or Thai scented)

Oysters

The calamari where ok the bread crumbed covering the calamari was too thick. In the other hand the sauce of the Mussels was a success, it was a creamy sauce with a bit with wine that makes the mix a very good combination.

We ask for the oysters that were fresh and really nice as they say.

I recommend this place for a summery day to have a lunch day in the terrace or for a romantic dinner beside the fireplace.

Japanese
38-39 Lower Ormond Quay
Dublin 1

Last Wednesday we decide to go to Yamamori, Is a place where you can seat and enjoy a very similar Japanese night.

Yamamori has two restaurants in Dublin with two different specialities, one Restaurant is of Sushi and the other one are Noodles. We had dinner in the Sushi one. The place it was not busy we had dinner around 9.30 so we had a very fast service. I order Chicken Ramen and my friends had Bento Box, as soon as we got the places I want it to change it for the one they were having. The Bento Box is different everyday, they have special orders everyday I think this dish is the best one for people who like trying a little bit of everything and not be hungry afterwards.

My dish in plane words it was a big soup with noodles, vegetables and chicken. The soup tasted really soft and fresh, the chicken was really tender. The always give you a green hot tee for starters.

Chicken Ramen

Chargrilled 8oz. chicken breast with seasonal vegetables in a chicken and pork stock. € 16.50

 Yam

Bento Box   See daily specials board. € 18.50

This place it is really nice, comfy and relaxes for a dinner or lunch. You can enjoy of a good meal, good service and good atmosphere in general. The food is nice and not expensive.

I order in this place spaghetti carbonara cooked as a Roman old recipe and it was delicious, may be a little heavy for a dinner but exquisite for lunch, my lunch partner had Calzone, cooked in a fire wood oven, the taste of the bread it was so tasty so natural that I can still remember in my mouth.

CalzoneLeña

For desert I had homemade cheesecake that it the specialty for the day. It was cooked in a traditional way with the jam on the top and the sweetness inside. It was just great. David had tiramisu.

It was an excellent meal, very good service and good food quality I recommend this restaurant to have lunch, dinner and even just coffee. Just Delicious.

3 Cork Hill, Dame Street

Toscana

You know when you have big expectation for a place, and everything goes wrong and wrong? That’s what happens yesterday, is a pity but I had to admit that this is not an Italian Restaurant; the only Italian thing was the music.

We had a reservation for two when we arrive the restaurant had enough free places but they ask us for a reservation fair enough, the bar tender was looking and looking for a place to sit us down, so finally he found one of the many empty places downstairs for us.

The service did start very well, we order the drinks in between looking at the menu, and the drinks didn’t arrive until we remind the waiter when the main course arrives.

I order spaghetti Carbonara, traditional Italian. You can find two options for this unique name ‘Carbonara’ the one made of egg, and the one made of cream, so I was not expecting in a Italian restaurant to have my Carbonara with cream, that is not Carbonara.

Carbonara is a traditional Italian pasta sauce. Its name comes from carbone, which is Italian for coal, and many believe the dish derives its name because it was popular among charcoal makers. Others believe, however, that the dish is called carbonara simply because of the black, freshly milled pepper that is used. The original Roman recipe is made from eggs, parmigiano reggiano, pecorino romano, guanciale (unsmoked pig cheeks), black pepper, and either strutto, olive oil or butter. Cream is not an ingredient in the original recipe, and is not generally used with pasta in central Italy.

My college order cannelloni, I have to say that the looks of the cannelloni it was like frozen one, he didn’t like, in my opinion the tomato sauce all spread between the spinach killed all the different flavors of his meal.

It was not a good experience for a restaurant, when we finish our main courses we were waiting 10/15 minutes for the desert menu, so I just look for it my self in the counter one of the many waiter that were working in the area come to me very surprise and ask me what was I looking for, so I explain that I was giving them another chance to make the dinner wrother (obviously I didn’t say that), just that I was looking for the menu.

I order Banoffee my favorite desert and David order Profiteroles, the Profiteroles where a little bit small but they were ok. My Banoffee it was made more than half of it of toffee so it was too sweet to really feel the differed flavors of banana, cream and biscuit.

My experience in this restaurant it was not wrother, the poor Food Quality, and bad service saws very bad management in this restaurant. I will not recommend this place.

Suffolk Street Dublin 2

This Pub it’s really good to bring friend from abroad, it is a very typical Irish pub with traditional food and live music. It has very good quality and good price for a meal. You can have the traditional Irish Guinness Stew, that is a mix of vegetables and meat. Very tasty. As well as the chicken or famous fish and chips. I have to say that the food its really nice but not for every day meal. The quantity in every meal it’s very big.

The lam and turkey are very delicious, and you can chose different salads and potatoes. They even have a extended selection of sandwiches and soups. Its a place for every food taste.

This pub has 3 levels where you can sit and enjoy your meal while listening to the live music. In the top floor you can find terrace for a sunny day or to have a smoke in a heated place.

StewIrish Stew

I would recommend this place for foreign that come to Dublin to see the real Irish side.

12 Eustace Street, Temple Bar

Ointxos

At the moment you can find two Pintxos Bas in Dublin, one in Temple Bar and the second one near Grafton St this second is a bit smaller and darker so I always try to go to the one in Temple Bar.

Last time i been there I order a few tapas, really nice. I had paella, croquetas with ham, calamares and of course Churros with chocolate.

PaellaCroquetasCalamaresChurro

In this place you can enjoy a good tapas and a excellent wine. In this occasion we had a very normal wine but you have a really extended offer of wines from different countries. Especially Italy, Spain and France.

I don’t recommend this place for big groups or kids. Is more a relaxing place to enjoy in a table of 3 or 4 people.

Please let me know your comments respecting this place.

 Lord Edward Street

Bull & Castle

The Bull and Castle

If you like a good piece of meat, you need to visit The Bull and Castle. This pub/restaurant has good quality price and service.

Their specialty are the ribs with BBQ sauce, this is a really heavy plate but delicious juicy meat. The sirloin steak is really taste and not that heavy. I normally ask for the pepper sauce and in this case is genuine pepper sauce, mmmh delicious.

In The Bull and Castle they have a really beautiful Salad, Baked Goat Cheese Salad with a forest fruit salad and mixed leaves.

For desert they have a really nice Chocolate cake, and in the Menus states that they have homemade banoffee (my favorite desert) but in every occasion I had to order banoffee, they were running out of it. So I will keep trying.

 Banoffee

This place is nice to bring family and friend it has good quality and is not expensive. So enjoy the day with a stake.

Market Bar

14A Fade Street, Dublin 2

 Market Bar

This Bar is a place to have a snack or a proper dinner. Its a very spacious place where you can have a nice snack or may be celebrate a Bday. The tapas Menus is a mix of Mediterranean tapas. The most famous dishes for the Spanish are the Patatas Bravas, Lamb, Calamari, Meatballs and probably mucho more. My favourite are the calamari because they are very similar to the one you can find in Spain, not too greasy and the perfect taste.

Patatas Bravas

Calamari Market

Meatballs

The only dish I would recommend for them to cook, is the Spanish omelette is not include in the menu and its very easy to cook and everybody loves a real Spanish omelette.

This place has a Restaurant Grill and their specialities are the meats, very good cook meat. I would recommend this place if you want to have a snack and a few drinks at the same time, is perfect and there is always place.

Once my company organized a party in The Market, it was really good organise, they reserve an area upstairs that is just on top of the Bar, and we had platters with different Tapas, like cheak Pease with tomato sauce, Meatballs, Lentils with chorizo very extended quality food and everybody tried different food and enjoy this party.

Mao Cafe Bar

Restaurant on Chatham Row near Stephens Green Restaurant Stephens Green Dublin 2

Mao Restaurant
Last Thursday 2th of May, me and my friend David we went to Mao for dinner around 8, we didn’t have any reserve but after 2 minutes they gave us table, the decoration in the restaurant is very nice and floral with lights effects that gives you an idea of been in a spice sip, in a nice way.

I order lemon fish wrap in a banana leave, something that i thought it was very exotic combination that makes the dish very colorful and interesting to see. In one of the sides it was a mix to create a little spice red sauce.

Lemon fish banana leave

The fish it was just delicious and the color perfectly withe with no bones whatsoever.

The red sauce it was a mix of onion tomato and some of mint that to tell you the truth i was not fun of it. It was spicy and minty at the same time.

After this fantastic main course i just order the desert a beautifully cheesecake with strawberry on top t it. The strawberries were just so natural and tasty that you could smell the real smell of the fruit. The cake was just unbelievable, but i donut think it was home made.

Later on i had a cocktail because after 8.30 the server cocktails for €5, I had Red Lotus with lychee on it, it gave it a really sweet taste to the cocktail

Red Lotus
I really enjoy the diner in this restaurant and i would recommended it to anyway that wants to have a nice and relaxing time.
